I`am Rolf from Germany and I have a question. My BMW 320 D have a
manual climate only and I want to upgrade it to a automatic climate control.
My dealer said, thats not possible, but I dont´t believe that. Everyone know something about it?
You are really lucky guys there in the US, because the BMW cars are so cheap there and have allots of goodies at all. In germany , you must pay for everything!
My car, a E46 320 d( 2 litre diesel engine with 150 hp) with some goodies (xenon lights, manual climate, park distance control,! no leather ) cost 42,000 Dollars.
your only sensible option is to pull the entire shebang out of a wrecked e46. this will take untold hours of labour, and likely involve redoing the wiring harness in addition to dash hardware. on top of this, you will have to install temp sensors, one of which is located outside of the dash, and wire it correctly. not worth it, imho, sell the car and buy better next time.

I am interested because I've got the same climate control unit.

what is the diff. betwen manual and automatic climat control ?
Actually I prefer manual A/C over automatic. It's so easy to adjust stuff without taking the eye off the road ahead. Plus, I feel like I'm in total control of what's going on down there. Just my 2 cents...
