I recently bought a 2001 model 325i. All is fine and dandy but yesterday after washing the car with the jet washer this light started coming on. It comes on for a while and then goes away but since today it's on almost permanent.
Im no expert as mine does'nt have this symbol, but I would go for low coolant level, as you jet washed it you may have got the sensor wet, but you say its now on all the time , so I would check coolant level and washer level as Witeshark says.

That is not the windshield washer fluid light (I know because the windshield washer fluid light is on on my car, and it looks like a windshield wit ha sprinkle falling on it).
The light on your dash is the coolant level light. Check your coolant level and add coolant as necessary. You may also have a faulty sensor that is sending a false low level signal.
Good luck.
