Don't want to start a tyre war, but wanted to through out a question for you all. There is a pinned thread here with a pricelist for Toyo Tyres.
It's been my experience that Toyo brand is not a very high quality brand tyre. I base that mostly on my brother, who has a late model Maxima, and had 3 out of the 4 Toyos go bad (enough to have to be replaced) within 3 years.
I've shopped for (and purchased) high speed performance tyres for my '95 Mustang GT (up for sale so I can get a BMW) and found a number of well respected brands, but Toyo was not one of them.
Just wondering; are they a popular tyre for the BMW? Are they the standard boots on new BMWs? I wouldn't think so, but I don't know.
Toyo Proxies are awesome tires. i know lots of people who use them.
BMW uses michelin (spelling) and i promise you i will NEVER use michelins ever again id take a set of proxie TS1's and the money i save over a set of michelin pilot sports.

ok my two sets that ive owned in my life on my BMW have lasted a combined total of just under 1 year. the first set were brand new to the car when i bought them (only 1 month old kinda new) and they were garbage they felt terrible to boot. the second set i owned was a set was no better.
at the BMW mechanics shop that i help out at , they all say michelins suck compared to other tires out there.
id rather get a set of Bridgestones or Yokohamas over the michelins anyday. id even take my perellis back over the michelins
i am currently testing out the Kuhmo ecsta supra 712's and im in love with not just the price but the overall performance.
so you can see ive tried lots of different tires in my time , not just on my BMW but on my civic. Toyo are gonna be next to go on my car only because ive heard good things about them from word a mouth.
i had good luck with the pilots (michelin). all the other michelins i.e. all-season, not high performance, sucked %^&hole. terrible in wet, and very expensive.
the bridgesotne potenzas on my 330 pp are decent, but nothing special.
