I had a 03' 330i w/ Performance Package. I just traded it in for an SLK 320. I wanted a convertible. So I got this one. I was going to trade in for a TL but I liked this car a lot better. What do you guys think? Bad deal or good?

I wonder if there is a person alive that is happy with a convertible......
Tech - my wife has wanted a convertible for a long time now but after reading
your comment maybe you can list 5 or more reasons why not to own one.
Thanks

:P
They aren't bad. It just that many owners can't stand a little more wind noise than a sedan, a little more squeeks and rattles, an occassional water leak.....
If the car is under warranty, the people want the car perfect, or their vision of, and seem to have near death experiences if something isn't perfect. But as soon as it's out of warranty, they don't care anymore.
I just hate dealing with that kind of thing. The Z4 and E46 convertibles aren't that bad. The 3 series does squeek often due to the seals rubbing, (as well as the sedan for that matter) but it isn't noticed on a brand new car. Put some miles on one, and it gets noisey.
Basically, if you realize that a convertible is not a sedan, then a convertible is fine. :P
youre pretty fickle :P how long did you have the 330 for? i'm not a big fan of the SLKs, but it beats a TL. i'm also curious why you didnt opt for the Mroadster or a Z4 2.5i.
Uhhh yea... you go dude, how much did you lose in that trade???
If youre happy thats cool, but I mean, that IS MBs lowest end domestic vehicle size, performance and quality-wise, the upcoming Chrysler Crossfire drop top is basically the same thing...
The Porsche Boxster might have been my personal choice here, not even being partial to BMW, but whatever floats your boat.
Your M-B looks nice and from what appears to be a palm tree stem in the background you get a lot of weather to enjoy that topless drive. I do.
I have an '04 330. Great car. I have the heated seats so unless it's raining or just too hot here in Tampa, my top is down. I have not noticed any squeeks or anything loose yet. It's all tight and simple. Not like my leaky '74 Corvette that looked nice but was total junk. That car caused me to avoid years of ragtops until last summer when I went to Spartanburg to pick up this one. Love the glass rear window and triple layer top. One button does everything too. If you can afford it, I don't know why one would not opt for the convertible. You will need a visor cap though.
Well I'm not as happy with the car was when I got it. My parents ended paying just the transfer of the two cars. This is a 01' so it came out to 33,546 after taxes. I actually haven't traded it in. My parents and I know we woudn't get top dollar for the car and that's what happened when we went to the dealer. They wanted to give me approx. 29k for it. I've got a seller for about 32k. I'm thinking of just taking it back. I know we'll loose money, but it rained the other day and it already leaks. It rattles like crazy for a MB and for a car @ this price. It looks to me like a chick car ever day I see it (not that it's a bad thing). There's more I dislike about this car than my BMW after driving it for a while now (about a week). I'm sorry but I don't want to turn to my parents for advice on a car. They want me to get a C32, I don't want a MB unless it's an SL. I'm thinking 04' S2000, Z4, Z350? Please any suggestions!
