I've got a 2000 330 Touring, and I'm looking to upgrade the rear speakers. Unfortunately I can't for the life of my figure out how to get the trim panels off to get to them (on either side!).
Has anyone else managed to do this, I've struggled away for hours and so far it seems the only way in is with a jigsaw! I don't have a Haynes manual for the car yet, though I suspect it will say something typically unuseful such as "remove the trim panels to gain access to the speakers"!
Any help much appreciated, thanks... |
Hi,
Indeed it is not so easy to figure out how to remove the rear panels. I have a 2004 320d touring, and the back speakers are worse then the 2001 320d sedan rear speakers that I had before. That's why I also would like to upgrade the rear speakers in the touring. My question is, what is the size of the rear speaker that you can put in ??? I think it is 16 cm but I'm not sure. Do you know ?
I you want to remove the back panels, you have to remove the cover of the rear safety belts. These are not screwed and can be taken off. Under that one you have a srew that hold the panel and the safety belt. Once you have removed that one, the rest is very obvious.
