Well I finally took a hassle free test drive. Man was it nice to be treated so well and not discuss price or BUY Now crap that other dealers push you to buy the car that day. I liked the added power of the 330xi better. I am still undecied about buying a new car just yet and may hold off for another year. I hear that they are redisigning the 3 series for 05. Is this true?
I like the 330xi but with high repair costs and lack of features or options might persuade me to go with a acura TL in the future. Heard that the BMW here charges $95 an hour to work on them.
So I still don't know what I want. used
I am sure that Acura TL will be AWD by 06. The 05 RL will be 300HP and AWD.
What I am looking for is build quality, paint quality, rattle free, hassle free, car.
I hear a ton of people complain about build quality for the TL. This includes, Paint problems, rattles, rims easily scratched, headliners falling down.
What about BMW? How is there build quality?
I don't understand how edmunds rates BMW 3 series as being a best pick but consumer reports holds bmw lower than Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc. Is it a long term issue with the bmw???
BMW build quality is very good. They're also very reliable if taken care of properly. You'll also get a lot more performance (esp. braking & cornering) in a BMW than an Acura.
I guess on consumer ratings you always need to consider that the expectation is that much higher on an executive car.
In the UK we tend to get a lot of "lower end of market" cars at the top of the lists as the expectation is lower - but not always - I owned a honda Civic Coupe, loved it when I had it nothing went wrong but since having an audi TT and a BMW I would not go back to honda!!
