Tires AGAIN!

`Hello

As a second language person I am missing words and many times do not know proffesional name for things. I am looking for a "name" of tire screws. The ones that go into five holes in rims. Can some one give me a word? Thanks

zibby rules.

wheel are mounted in two ways. as in bmw, there are threaded holes in the hub (the big piece of metal onto which the wheel attaches), then clamped down tight by screws, i.e. lugs.

the other way is where the screws just stick out of the hub (mounted there permanently), then the wheel goes onto them, and is clamped by nuts. nuts, in this case mean rounded pieces of metal with thread inside the hole, and a usually hexagonal outer surface, to allow tightening with a wrench.

karolina, as a second language car nut (in this case: fan, or car guy, or car crazy person), i have faced your problem many a time. fear not, we can help. what is your mother's tongue, btw??
