I'm a Bimmer nOOb and a nOOb to RFTs', so i was wondering---how often should the tires be rotated, and do I rotate front to rear or side to side? (All tires/rims are the same size on my '06 325i.)
Many (most) tires are rotation sensitive; they must stay on the same side rotating in the same direction. That of course means front to rear. Rear wheel drive cars may need less rotation depending on how you drive (unlike front wheel drive which must switch out the harder used front tires that really do all the work). Though it's a good idea to do a rotation about every 6,000 miles, a look at your treads may show that it's not really worth the bother.
Actually BMW does not reccomend tires rotation on their cars.
Check the manual.
really? i didn't know that....it's funny, i saw in the manual that it suggests changing the oil out once a year....That seems a bit absurd to me but im a noob too just like the OP so im learning as i go as well.
