Hi,
I replaced the front struts a couple of weeks ago with Sachs struts and Lemforder strut mounts. About a day later I started to hear a small thumping sound on uneven roads which has increased with time. The only thing I can think of is that this is because of the struts mounts since I just read that the contact area between these mounts and the top of the shock tower is actually less than the OE mount (so much for going with OEM instead of OE to save a couple of bucks). The Sachs struts are working great though.
My question is has anyone had this issue when replacing their front struts and mounts and do you think the noise is due to the LF mounts? I want to rule out all possibilities before I purchase new mounts.
Thanks!
