Thermostat Replacement Question

Hello, my brother is a proud owner of a 01 bmw 325ci. There is hardly no heat when idling, but there is heat while driving which leads me to believe the thermostat is stuck open. Is thermostat replacement on this car straight foward just as most other cars? I do not have much experience with bmw's and know there are some differences. I believe I have read about some bmw's having electronic thermostat control? Any information you guys have would be very helpful, and I assume you all recommend OEM replacement parts?

dunno where you come from,,,but i went onto www.ebay.co.uk

and i bought ..for £1.99,,,a cd-rom,,,which the bmw dealers use,,it has all the info about all the cars[and bikes]

even lists part numbers for you to quote at a dealer

and it show u how to change your thermostat
