The Telltale light for Engine Oil lit 15~20 seconds after started the Engine. It lasts for 15 seconds before goes off. It happens almost every time I start the car.
Changed oil and changed 2 oil sensors. But problem is still the same. Any ideas?
unless I really misunderstood something, isn't all of your check engine lights (including oil) come on right when you start the car, just like every car on the road? I would think it's ok for it to come on when you start the car, as long as it goes away shortly after
it's when the light remains on (perminatly) that you have problems...all dash lights go through a "self test" upon vehicle start up...if the proper signals are recieved within approx 10-15 seconds the lamp will shut off...you have nothing to worry about it sounds like.
The actual sequence is that after all self-test lights go off, the oil light comes on again for exactly 15 seconds.
The mechanic plugs in a reader for the error, but the fault code was "unknown".
Two sensors have been changed already but the problem is still there!! The mechanic suggested to change the third sensor which is more expensive and costly on labor. But they cannot guarantee.
Do we have any solution for above problem ? Mine 325CI/2001, also behaves the same when starting the car, it keeps the yellow check oil light for few seconds.

Thanks
Yellow oil light means you are one quart low. CHeck your oil level and add a quart if necessary. Otherwise, it may be your oil level sensor.
