Tail Light Tint????

hello i want to tint my tailights BUT ONLY THE YELLOW PORTION OF IT. the remailnig will remain as is (the red Brake lights)..the right side taillight is just a mock up thats how it could look like (not the actaul tint on)...so is it legal or not in New York?? i dont think its a problem cause its not the entire tailight...!!!! thanx in advance

I'm not from new York so I can't say if it is or isn't legal. However most places that offer smoked lights smoke the whole thing. Your best bet is going to someone who tits widows and asking if they could do it. The only issue I see with it is their would be an edge where ends so it could be more prone to lifting or peeling.
