It's not a supercharged turbo. It's a supercharger that has similar build and performance characteristics to a turbo. Difference between the two are a supercharger is powered off of the crank of an engine (usually) and a turbo is always powered off of the exhaust of an engine. The simple answer to this question is the kit more than likely not be retrofitted as it is for the E46's S54 engine. The charge cooler will not fit onto a M54 or really work as the M54 has one throttle body in comparison to the 6 ITB's on the M54. Other major difference is the throttle body is at the bottom of the M54 inlet runners and the S54's ITB's are located after the intake runners. Despite other major differences I don't see the kit working on an M54 without major modifications. Besides Active Autowerke has a system that costs way less than the system for the M3.

What I really mean to say is the charge cooler won't work on the M54 because the S54 has 6 ITB's in comparison to the M54's single throttle body. I made a serious typo there.
