Sunroof Inop E46 330Ci

Hey I'm a new member but i've used this site for the past 3 years to trouble shoot various problems with my old '95 325is and i just recently bought a used 2001 330ci. I cant find any threads pertaining to sunroof problems like i'm having. Originally the sunroof worked as it was suppose to with a momentary and a one touch open/close function. about a month ago the switch, when depressed only moves the sunroof 1 inch at a time. holding the button down produces the same result. i was forced to lock out (disconnect) the switch because i was afraid it would fail and i would get stuck with the window open during a rainstorm (the car didnt come with half the tool kit, including the allen wrench)........anyone have any ideas? fyi i know its not the switch cause i ops checked it with a meter....

It is probably the motor. The motor has stop switches in it so that it knows when to stop moving. If these fail, it will just stop every inch or not move at all. If you end up needing the motor, let me know or give us a call and we can get it for you.
