sunroof help 318 ci 2000

hi guys,
my cars sunroof cover thing inside the car which you manually pull back has come out of its fittings and is just floating about on the top and swaying from side to side... has anyone has had this problem before... any suggestions on how to fix this...since i dont even know where it sits to slide back and front... also a black plastic part of it has come out... PLZ HELP

i think you have the get that plastic material surround thing replaced

guess they are just worn?

There are 2 plastic clips that slide on rails that hold the right to left position on the sunroof shade cover. They are relatively inexpensive (~$10US I think)and not hard to replace you do need a right angle Phillips head screwdriver to do it though. It is common for these to occasionally break I have replaced 2 on my car already.

hi guys i guess i know what brackets your talking about... but the guys at BMWorkshop here quoted me 240 NZD just for the plastic peices what a rip off..... so i guess i`ll have to look for a cheaper option or just get the plastic custom made....

Here is the part number I found for the left clip 54137134516 and here is the right 54138246025. I do not know if these are correct for your car but it might be a good place to start. I use this site http://www.realoem.com/bmw/ as a referance for parts, there is a pretty good blowup ofthe sunroof assembly there as well so you can identify the part you need.
