Sunroof and engine problem

i've been trying to close my sunroof and when it's barely halfway it retracts as if something is blocking it. i've checked and nothing is blocking. at times i'd hear a loud click, and again, nothing is in its way. i've been trying to call the bmw maintenence around here and with my luck, they've all closed for the day. now my other problem is the engine. since this sunroof will not close, the engine somehow won't start. instead i would hear two loud clicks. someone please help.

It sounds like your engine problem could be your battery.. Normally a car with a drained battery will make clicking noises when you try to start the vehicle. Check the battery in the trunk with a battery charger just to make sure that is the problem... If not, it could be your starter?

As for the sunroof.... I am clueless.

i have a question about your sunroof and possibly an answer. do you have the head-liner that keeps the sun out? if so it could possibly be that, i know on my 2000 323i the sunroof will do that if it catches the liner and drags it back all the way with it. it may not be a prblem that needs to be fixed, it may just need you to ensure before you retract it back to pull the liner forward a little so it doesn't have that problem, that is what i do and it works just fine.
