if three months or so, i d do what the guys suggested, however you want at least 30 mins drive so that all the acidic condensation will be blown out of the exhaust system. remember that water is one of the products of combustion...
regardless, upon returning, add gas additive (techron seems to get best reviews) to clean out gunk from fuel lines. this used to be a much bigger problem in carb years when the fuel system was not pressurized. volatile compounds would evaporate first, leaving behing a dense , brown smeary goo in the throttle body.
