Yesterday, my '99 328i sat out in a huge storm: high waters, the whole deal. When I started it, I noticed that all my stereo setting were gone (like me battery had been disconected). She started up fine and drove with no issues. This morning, after a night in the garage, I can't get it to turn over. All the electrical stuff comes on, though my lights are dim.

Is it just a coincidence, or did the weather have something to do with it? Any ideas?

Is the vehicle wet? Any vehicle that shows these symptoms... the first thing to do is check if there are any cracks in the distributor cap/body. I am not sure how/where the distributor is on our car. I say this because I know that when you change the spark plugs there is a coil for each plug.

If I were you I'd look at the system first. I hope this points you in the right direction.
