Storing Tires Over A Season

I have ordered some winter tires, and so I need to find a place for my summer ones. I've heard various advice from people but it is different depending on who I talk to. I know I have to keep them out of direct sunlight, which is fine.

1. Where should I store the tires? Can I store them in the garage (can get as hot as maybe 35 degrees celcius and as cold as -40 degrees celcius) or do I need to store them in my basement?
2. Should I store them on their sides, or on the tread?
3. Should I find some tire bags to put them in? (who sells those)
4. Should I buy a tire rack to put them on?

If I have to buy something to store these tires, then bonus points go out to anyone who knows where I can get that stuff in Canada (Toronto area preferable)

2. Should I store them on their sides, or on the tread? Again doesn't matter
3. Should I find some tire bags to put them in? (who sells those) Good Idea however make sure the tires are dry before you put them in.
4. Should I buy a tire rack to put them on? Not necessary.

I am assuming you are storing just the tires not the rims.
Personnally I would buy steel wheels for the winter, you dont want to be changing tires back and forth you will damage the sidewall.
