Has anyone had a problem with the throttle pedal being stiff. In previous services I have mentioned the stiff throttle and the dealer has fixed it, but it stiffens up again very quickly. I have oiled the pedal, the cable and everything I can get to, but this hasn't solved the problem. Any ideas?
If the car is drive by wire BMW has issued a technical bulletin on this issue. They will replace the gas pedal and electronic controller that goes with it if it is still under warranty. By the age of your Dad's car that may not be possible bit at least it tells you there is a generic problem. It may also indicate that you will need to replace the unit.
