Unhappy stereo help

hi can anybody help me i took out my bmw stereo out my e46

and stuck in a aftermarket stereo but did not like the aftermarket stereo so i
put back in the bmw stereo but now it cuts off after half hour and i have to switch of my self after keys out bmw says it will cost ,me 100 pounds for them to reprogram the stereo to car is the any way round this as i think thats a lot of money

can anybody help please thanks ,barry

I've never heard of it having to be re programmed for the car. Normally it requires you to input a security code and your good to go.
