Steptronic Transmission and cd chager

I have a 2001 325I e46. Can you shift from normal automatic to slackstick/manual while the car is moving in in D gear? For ex if im moving at 50mph and i want to shift to pass.Also where is the prewired connectors for the cd changer the trunk says its prewired but I could not find them?Do you have to use a Bmw changer or can you use a non-bmw and get connectors to fit the wiring harness? Thanks

I have to say that i do not know about the wiring for the changer in the trunk, my car also says that it is "Pre-wired", but I have not found out if mine really is prewired. As for the changing to manual while you are moving, i do it all the time and have had no problems. it is actually really nice.

You can switch to Sport Automatic w/o a problem, but i dunno if you can go into manual, gear 1 being the default gear it goes into... All e46ers are pre-wired for damn near everything, you just have to find the right wire/connector.
