In my 03 330xi when in steptronic manual I notice that the car downshifts to 3rd when I'm in M-5 when I press the gas pedal to the floor (I'm usually going about 60 to 75 when I floor it). Is this normal or a malfunction of the ATC or the electronic speed limiting chip kicking in. --------- Thanks

Dont worry mine does that also - it is supposed to - if you are flooring it in m -5 it does not have enough power to do anything so it only upshifts if you press it to the floor - just to be easier on the engine - it isnt good for it to be floored in fifth gear when you are not going fast enough - just another way steptronic saves you lol
