hey im getting a 01 325ci within a week or so and it doesn't have premium (HK) speakers so i was wondering if you guys know where/how/how much it is to upgrade speakers?
honestly get a set of nice speakers and a decent amp that will outshine the whole H/K system, it will probably be cheaper than buying the system new. take a look throught the audio forum for ideas.

I am interested in upgrading my shitty 2000 323i system, not even HK, I am looking at MB Quart Q's with a JL 500/5 amp. I already have two 12" RFZ3812s on a RF 300S in the trunk but am looking to increase the sound quality to go along with the ridiculous base. Any ideas. This setup is like $3,000 plus and Im hoping to go cheaper without losing a lot of sound quality or is this the only way to go?

Hey slick
I upgraded my convertable but same as you, I wanted to be able to have full control over the sound quality not just the volume, different music, different settings.
I picked up a Kenwood, 9004 graphic/spectrum analizer and run it between the head set and the amps, its not a slave unit so its compatible with almost everything. Not sure on cost over there, but it won't break the bank.
SOUNDS SERIOUS!
