Okay folks,
You all know by now that I have a new 330i (see my other post)... best car I have ever owned.
It does have a major problem however. It could be that I am not used to driving it but for some reason it does not want to go below 30 MPH! I can't help it... and now I have paid the price for this flaw and got a 36 in a 25 MPH zone ticket! This is not a joke, its true...
I truly believe this is a dumb ticket... only 11 over!
Anyone know how to get this thing dismissed in Washington state? I am in the Lynnwood (North of Seattle) area.
It really depends on the cop to give you a ticket or not, you were still over the speed limit, and you can't really argue in court that is was "only" 11 mph over.

I love scotch. Scotch scotch scotch.
if this were in Ga, i'd tell you to - just go to court and ask for a pre-trial. talk to the soliciter person and as long as your record is pretty clean of moving violations, they will knock the ticket down to 9mph and you'll only have to pay a small fine and won't have to deal with insurance finding out or anything like that.
now the laws in washingtin are probably differant than here, but the court systems can't be far from identicle. so just show up for court and get a pre-trial. you can work it out easily.

I've beat about 4 tickets... first I stare the cop down and let him know whose boss.. second I rev my engine to let him know I could have out ran him. third you always wax and clean your car so their radar doesn't work. 4th you need to put neon around the license plate frame and that'll solve it.
no just kidding.. I have beat 4 tickets and got probation on another one by asking for a court date and asking to supeona (spelling??) the cop to be there and the radar guns papers. WA state law says the gun needs to be tuned every 6 months and on mine, they hadn't been tuned for nearly 3 years. I got out of a 95mph ticket in a 75 through moses hole because of this. good luck

lol... I just don't seem to have the ability to lift up off the accelerator for some reason... it was no problem in my Accord... so it must be the car!
This is probably the first time I smiled when I pulled away from the cop after he gave me my ticket... reality set in later when I realized I can't let this get on my record or my insurance is going to skyrocket! I'm looking up lawers right now... unless any of you have suggestions!
I was from Pullman (eastern Wash) I got a warning for going 11 over. Appeal the ticket and find a date where the cop has his day off and your good to go. He wont want to go to court on his day off.
Are you honestly thinking about going to court and telling the judge that your car is physically incapable of going under 30 MPH? In my opinion, just go to your scheduled court date, dressed respectably. Unless the cop is a total asshole, he/she will probably meet with you before you're called up and change the speeding charge to a lesser infraction. Don't forget to call the judge "sir" or "ma'am". I tried this and it worked - speeding became failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. I still got points on my license, but my insurance rates stayed the same. Good luck.
