Soft springs??????

Hi
I`ve recently noticed that the rear drivers side (on my 325ci 2001) seems to be lower than the near side rear. You can fit 2 fingers under the nearside but only 1 under the drivers side.

I`ve checked the springs and the look to be in place and in good order.

Is there such a thing as having 1 spring softer than the other?

Any help would be grateful.
