I am about to order and New 2005 330i Convertible. I'm thinking of the SMG trans. Does anyone have one and what do you think of it??

if you are thinking the 330 will have the same feel of the M3 your wrong. for some reason the SMG in the Z4's and the regular 3 series are really sluggish feeling. they aren't far from an auto in the manual mode. i'd just go for the regular 6spd.

if for some reason you cant drive manual, get the smg, its the closest thing to it

A lot of mixed opinions on the SMG - many like it, many don't. If you really like the feel of 3 pedals found in a standard manual transmission car, you'll be disappointed.

If your going to drop that much $ on a new car, I would spend some time behind the wheel of a car w/ each - you don't want to pick the wrong tranny and regret it later. I've read on numerous occasions in BMW forums where people regret getting SMG, and probably some the other way around too.

Keep in mind the SMG in the 330 is not the same SMG version found in the M3, so if you test drive one of each, make sure your testing out a standard 3 series w/ SMG.
