Sloppy Shifter

I just bought a 2003 330Ci and all is well with the car except for the shifter. It is amazingly loose and sloppy for a car with just under 100k miles.

I read up a bit on the issues with bushings and am just wondering if anybody has just replaced the bushings (no short shift lever or new forks etc.) and if that tightened things up to factory quality.

The car is to be an every day driver, so I'm not looking to go racing or speedshifting. But it has to be much more psoitive than it is now!

Thanks,

Yes, replacing the bushings gets it nice and tight/notchy.
