If I hadn't complained about my car I don't think I would've gotten the deal that I got. I went to a MB dealer where my parents got their car and they made a good deal with the sales manager for the SLK. He heard how it leaks and the non-stop rattles. They did have an 02' S2000 and it was about 28K. After all debts and shotcomings are done and over with, this car will also be paid off and all other cars will be left in the hands of their respective owners. I hope I'm happy with this car. Maybe it will last longer than the MB.
your a lucky kid, ill give you that much , for someone who had their parents allow you to have 3 cars in such a small time frame is awesome of them. personally if you dont like this car then may i suggest getting you to ask your parents to buy you that MB SL or something..
im still not too sure why or what your looking for in a car
the s2000 is one of the hardest car to live with on a daily basis. it is cramped, and the ride is harsh as hell. the motor also lacks low end torque so you better like revving the motor, and rowing the shifter. it is also a car that requires skill to drive fast, for the chassis has a tendency for snap oversteer, plus you don't have any form of traction control to save your butt, when you run out of talent to manuever the car. i can say this about the s2000 because i've owned and have driven the s2000 for the past year and a half. one extreme word of caution, though: although, the car may seem to have unlimited grip on dry pavement, it is a totally different car in the rain, especially if the car is still wearing the stock potenza so2's (you get about 20% of the traction that you would normally get in the dry). if i were you, the first thing i would do is check the tread depth of your rear tires, if it's anything less than 50%, i'd get rid of them and buy some new ones ASAP. you can always keep the slightly worn ones for the summer time, but worn rear tires is a big NO NO for the s2000 in the rain. other than that, the s2000 is one of the most exhilarating sportscar out there. the car literally handles and responds like a go-kart. and with the motor screaming at 9000rpm, while you're blasting down the highway with the top down...oh my!! anyway, i hope you've done a thorough and extensive testdrive of the s2000 before you decided to buy it, because it is one of those cars that a person either hates or loves. if you want immediate torque, then you're gonna hate this car, big time. although magazines list the s2000 doing 0-60 in around 5.4 sec, you will most likely never achieve those numbers yourself unless you like dropping your clutch at 7000rpm. in normal driving, i'd say the s2000 is slightly slower than a 330i. the s2000 is a car for someone who likes attacking corners, it is in no way a straight line speedster. as for rattles, you'll accumulate a bunch of them over time because the chassis and suspension is so stiff. nevertheless, enjoy your s2000. it's really an awsome car...
btw, $28K for an 2002 s2000 is overpriced. i would not pay anymore than $26.5K for it out the door.

I don't think you're ever going to find a car you really appreciate till you've had to spend your own money on it. I know I didn't give a flip about my first vehicle b/c I didn't have to pay for it, but once I started spending my own money(which I earned.. not given to me by my folks) did I start caring for what I got into and how I kept it.
My thoughts... when you get sick of this car.. probably in a couple hours.. get rid of it, get a job and pay for your own. I don't car if you go buy a Yugo but when it's your own money you'll get a lot more out of it. Graduation should be one step closer to adulthood but you're still out playing with toys.
