There is little difference between the two - most people that have heard both would probably agree. The only difference are the subs in the trunk - they do add some extra bass but I wouldn't go out of my way searching for a car with H/K.
I had a 330xi loaner with H/K and quickly realized what everyone was talking about when they said it was over-rated. It is better than the standard stereo, but not my much.
Go listen for yourself....maybe you'll think it's worth it.
