i was looking at some online shops, and from the description i got for the shark injector, it seems like all you do is plug it into the diagnostics port and reprogram ur computer and ur done right? if thats the case, isnt there a shop somewhere that charges much less (say...$30 - $50) and you take ur car in and they will reprogram it? (they keep the shark injector obviously and use it to do many cars)
or if someone else you know of has one, can't they use it to reprogram ur car too?
First of all, that would be illegal. The software is a product like any other- it's for sale. The only way a legit shop could do it is if they were licensed to. Second, you'll need your own to roll it back and later reprogram if you ever need to take it to a dealer--- all perf. enhancing software, even Dinan, voids your warranty. At least with Dinan they assume responsibility after the fact. Third, and don't take this the wrong way, but isn't your ride still dead from red-linig it during break in?
so if you have ur own, from what ur saying you can rollback the software and the dealer *shouldnt* be able to figure out its been installed?
and yes...its still at the dealer dead. i talked to the dealer regarding break in and he said it isnt necessary and red lining had nothing to do with it.
Gotta question, in the web, the shark injector said it's for US Spec BMW only, What's the difference between others'? and if Mine is 2003 Facelift 325Ci, made in Germany, would that be ok with the shark injector?
Thanks!
