Hi - I'm in UK and about to take delivery next week of a new 325i SE saloon (silver grey/black leather) due to market conditions in September I reckon I got a good discount for a vehicle that was free stock in the UK pipeline. The car is now being preped, I went to take pics of it yesterday, but I've got a "problem" with the chrome. I told the dealer I wanted it dechromed (shadowline) and they said they would do it at a 'good' price (but I stupidly didn't insist on being told it before placing the order - ok I wont do that next time!). Now they've told me it will be £1300 for parts and labour I reckon they might be trying to claw back the discount I got them to give me (several % more than they wanted and almost BeepBeep levels).

Question: is there anyone in UK who could give me a clue whether this is a good keen price or more like list. The sales exec says she swung a £100 reduction to get to the 1300. (There's also a prob with the titanium II trim inside which they will try to swop out to matt graphite at no charge - thanks guys.)

Any help appreciated..
Dave

Now resolved - with much phoning to several dealers. The £1300 is the rate for shadowline, ie gloss black trim on doors and above doors, PLUS adding something around the mirrors plus polishing the bodywork somehow. What I wanted, and have now been quoted £400 (50% parts 50% labo(u)r) for is just changing the chrome to matt black trim. That sounds more like it!
