Service Record Release - BMW Forum

I'd like some records on my E46 that I just bought used; the local dealer won't release anything. I'm not sure what they have as the car came from another part of the state. Is there a service available that might be able to provide some data based on the VIN? Thanks.

I see no good reason for withholding service records.

Contact BMW customer services, if its been serviced by a BMW dealer they will have records.

I called BMW Customer Service. They were nice. I got the number for the original dealer. That service department was willing to read me the records over the phone. There was nothing there, really, other than standard stuff and a failed window regulator. Not that helpful, but at least there were no logged issues during the warranty period of the car. I'm getting ready to do the rear dif. fluid, new plugs, air filter, and tranny fluid. That should be good for the preventative maintenance for the time being.
