I have a new 330 convertible and I was interested in having sirius satellite radio hard wired in. The dealership told me that because i have BMW Assist, this can't be done, but BMW is working on a fix. Does anyone know about this problem?

Hello Philippe B. I picked up my 2004 325xiT in January 2004 and had ordered it with Sirius. To date, I get same story as you have. I've complained to dealer and just took it up with HQ in New Jersey. HQ claims engineers are still working on it (must be more problematic than telemetry involved with sending man to moon).

Has anyone really used the BMW Assist? I find it to be useless. It seems to be only good if the airbag goes off. I'm thinking about having mine shut off to get around the issues.

My local "high-end" home theater, expensive car company in town said they can, and do, work around the issues that BMW can not solve. Should I go ahead with them (they install either Sirius or XM)? Their installation is seamless hard wire and displays through the car stereo screen (no additional screen needed). Will I void my electrical warantee as BMW warns may happen?
