It looks like it would be very easy. . .need to make four brackets to attach to the roof to bolt into the threads; and then the accompanying structure. All aluminum should do the trick.

You can BUY a roof rack from your local dealer. I would suggest that, unless you are a metal worker. I mean, if you made one, and it sucked, then you'd lose your snowboard/luggage/surfboard etc. That would not be cool
