reversing passanger mirror

I have read that some of the UK cars are fitted with a neat device for parking. When you select reverse the passanger mirror automatically moves down allowing you to see the wheels, so you don't curb your wheels. Is this a standard feature and can it be switched on as there appears to be all the parts fitted as standard?

Many thanks

Old News Buddy. Its a standard feature and if you have the mirror selector set for your left mirror it should turn down to show you the curb. If you have the selector to your right mirror then it will not. Of course left and right meaning drivers and passenger side depending on which country you are in.

Hmm...

...I have a UK 330i Touring, 2000, and it doesn't have this feature. It would certainly be useful, and I'd very much like to know how to enable it...
