Replica vs. OEM

There seems to be a lot of replica BMW wheels out there and i think i may f'd up and bought some 2nd hand ones thinking that that they are OEM. What a dumbass

Anyways, has anyone out there had a set ? And if so, what are you experiences?

they arent too bad, with decent care , they will last a while, of course nothing is better than OEM but for the price you can get a good set of rims,

OEM are forged, and 99% of replicas arent forged whihc means it is usuauly a mold and they weight more.

looking for wheels for my 1998 528i sport, any ideas where to shop or buy from here @ forum? They will be for winter tires.

My experience with replicas isn't particularly good. I bought a set of 17 inch M5 replicas for my 330Ci. Admittedly, they were for my winter tires. Anyways, after one winter, I noticed that the finish was literally flaking off in large pieces. Anyways, I agree with some of the others who say the replicas are heavier. They are. Just another issue to deal with. I have FM replicas which are readily available on eBay from many different dealers.

However, there are many OEM wheels available on eBay, from people who have upgraded from their OEM to aftermarket rims. There are some very good ones out there. Just be sure about the bolt pattern and more importantly, the offset. Otherwise your bimmer will end up looking like a dune buggy.
