I have a 2005 325i and my driverside headlight went out. After gettubg the light out, I went down to my local advanced auto parts to see if they would have a replacement and the Sylvania and Eiko replacements were $100 a piece. After doing some research I found many websites that had hid xenon headlights for as cheap as $40 for the pair. Has anyone replaced thier headlights with non-OEM bulbs and had success, any brands you would suggest to get or to stay away from.
You get what you pay for. The OEM bulbs are expensive cause there higher quality. Can you really expect a $40 bulb to last as long or even have the same output as an OEM one? Take the bulb and find out who the maker is. If your car is under warranty and you throw in something not approved and it causes more problems it may not be covered.
