| Replacing xenon bulb on 2004 325i I have the 2004 E46 sedan - facelift version and has the bi-xenon bulbs. I recently installed
an Umnitza Orion V2 angels eyes - a very tedious installation that took me almost a day. I
noticed that the angel eyes are 6000K in color (bluish white) while my xenon bulb is somehow
having a slight tint of yellow since the factory BMW color is usually around 4300K. I wanted
to match the color it so that it looks nice and buy a 6000K colored bi-xenon bulb.
Which brings me to the following questions:
1. Is there a thread that provides a complete bulb replacement with some pictures provided?
2. From what I understand about bi-xenon is that the low and high beam are in the same bulb
already. Is this true?
3. What kind of bulb would I need. Some bimmer forums says I need the D2S while some says D1S.
I want to make sure I am buying the proper bulb. Is there any suggestion on what brand is the
best that has the 6000K color?
4. Has anybody every replaced their DRL light with a more whiter bulb so that it does not give
that yellow/amber color. Since the DRL is also the flasher, I have tried replacing it with
8000K bulb and still get a yellow color that does not match the angel eyes. The only time the
bulb comes out white color is when I use the flasher because it uses the full 12 volt voltage
compared to half the power when using as DRL. I wanted to use some advertised H7 LEDs instead
but was wondering if I have to use a load resistor to make it work. Any suggestions would be
much appreciated.
