Replacement Tire Recommendations??

Hi,

My Conti Touring Contacts are about to give up the ghost on my 325i. I'm not a boy-racer or care much about the cosmetics but I am looking for a quiet smooth riding touring tire with reasonable (40-50K) tread life. Any recommendations from you longer term owners?

well i'm not sure of the tread life but if you got a set of Michelins they ar egreat tires they have low road force ratings over most other brands. which the road force, like if it was high you could encounter a vibration at higher speeds. but all in all Michelin is a great tire.

The Bridgestones RE950's have impressed me like no other tire has.
I had Goodyear Eagle F1's that cost $1500 for 4,
The RE950's are better at less than half the price.

I replaed the Conti's on my `02 325i with Michelin Pilot Sports, and noticed a HUGE difference right away. Smoother ride, better handling/cornering. I got my set at Costco, and think I was out the door for about $650, give or take.
Before I bought mine, I went on to a couple of forums and asked the same thing, because I, too, wanted the wisdom and experience of other BMW owners. Now, when I'm driving down the road, and I see another 3 series, I try to take a look at the tires, and most of the time, it seems like they're sporting Michelins.
Whichever way you go, just make sure you don't sell yourself short, and buy cheap tires. You're BMW will suffer for it. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
