I am new to the bmw world. I used to be involved with VW tuning scene and I am looking for the same type of deal for my new bmw.
I bought a 2008 335 and I am wondering if there are any companies who reflash the ECU. I found with my GTI 2.0t that I could reflash my ECU easily and when I went to the dealer i always had no problems.
Does anyone have advice or know any companies that do the same?
Contact either Dinan or Vishnu. They both have packages that will give you close to 400 crank hp
BMW dealerships may be more stringent, but the systems these guys I mention install are piggy-back systems that can be removed and reinstalled easily (so that you can remove the system whenever you take teh car to the dealership).

Dinan is the only tuner out there right now with a reflash for this car. Everyone else seems to be running piggyback. There are a lot of reasons why piggyback is bad for this car.
In addition, the dealer WILL be able to tell that you have had a Vishnu kit installed, because the new releases of BMW software have been programmed to recognize it. Your warranty will go away very quickly.
Dinan, on the other hand, matches the BMW warranty, so you will have no issues.
Thanks for the corrections, Prof. I had heard about the new reflash that can tell if the car has had a Vishnu kit installed. Didn't know it was active already.

There is a shop that is also reflashing the ECU in Culver City California. They are telling me that they can reflash my ECU through the OBDII port. I am seriously considering this option.
Good Info guys...I just purchased the 335i and my first mod is going to be the Dinan software upgrade. more boooooost!!!! (even though sometimes i regret not getting the IS-F. but i'm confident i'll soon forget about it after i drive the bmw more)

Dinan also has its issues with a few folks. Search for Dinan stage 2 on e90post you will see. Folks started losing power (boost is not at what level it should be. Orb, the original poster, mentioned the more he gets into it, the more he thinks Dinan flash is not so good. The ex-owner is willing to work with the buyers, but issue is still there.

Well if somebody does have issues with the software, can't you just have someone work on it to correct it? I'm still unsure on what Dinan means by "matching" factory warranty. In dummy terms, does that mean they'll fix your car if something catastrophic happens?..............don't want to jack this thread......
