redline in a bmw 325

Is there somewhere on the web where this is spec'ed out?
I wanna know when redline starts, and when the rev-limiter
kicks in.

Also wanted to know if that rev-limiter kicks in if you hammer
the gas in neutral. I let my girlfriend drive the car ghead , and she
missed a gear , and hammered the gas. I just want to make
sure I didn't destroy my engine used . She said she's not sure if
the limiter came in or not.

Forgot to mention...it's a 2003 325Ci manual

the rev limiter kicks in at 6500rpm, and the revs should stop at 6500 even in neutral. 6500rpm is also considered redline as far as i know. although if you missed a gear, say instead of going from 5th to 4th, you went 5th to 2nd, your screwed.

if you ever chipped your car, your new redline and revlimiter would be set at 7000rpm

Hmm..what does it mean to "chip your car"?

And is that rev - limiter documented anywhere in BMW corerspondance???
