| About a week ago I discovered what I'd felt was a problem all along on my 2004 325xit -- the rearview dimming mirror wasn't working. My 2001 325xit had a great dimming mirror, very pronounced dimming effect. The 2004 model seemed quite weak from the first day (I'd complained and service had "looked at it" back then). Anyway, I was eating a burger while driving (health and driving affects aside) at night. Decided to turn on the driver side task light to make sure I wasn't slopping ketchup all over. Immediately, the dimming mirror pounced into action. All vehicle headlights behind me went quite dim. Went to dealer next day and it was "checked again" and confirmed in "working order." I explained that it only worked when light hit it quite obliquely (from the task light), but this didn't seem to pique the service guy's interest. I think BMW's got a bad supplier or a bad batch from their supplier and no one has complained. Anyone else have a weak dimming mirror or am I just too sensitive? |
