Rattling Noise / Acceleration Revving Noise

I have a rattling noise under my hood. Additionally when I accelerate, my car makes a constant "revving" noise. The car drives fine but the noise is annoying and concerns me since it's something that just recenlty started. It sounds similar to that of a standard car needing to shift into a higher gear. Does anyone know what this may be?

just a guess but maybe the fan clutch is locked up. with the engine cold try spinning the fan, it should spin freely. If it is locked in or hard to spin then the fan clutch has most likely failed. This will make a loud noise while driving and it also is a very bad situation as the plastic fan could potentially explode and damage the radiator, belts etc and even come up THROUGH the hood.
