quite honestly. a BMW can live an extremely long time, as long as you take care of it.
we've only owned 2 in our family, but the oldest we do have, which is a 93', has 160k miles and it's still running smooth.
we do have 4 mercedes. one with 340k miles. 2 with over 225k. thoes are the real work horses, but bmws are nicer, and faster.
i pick bimmers over merc.

! Hearing what you have to say really puts me at ease about this car. I asked the previous owner about his maintance schedule and he informed me he always took it back to the dealer for service. He also stated that he used to drive the car 55 miles one way to work!
