Questions about a 2001 330ci - BMW Forum

Well for the past month I have been looking at purchasing a Lexus is300. It's a sporty little luxury car that I have been in love with since I first saw it in 2000. But it's a little underpowered and the BMW 3 series started to catch my eye as well.

New 330s are out of my price range so I pretty much ruled them out until my local Lexus dealer called me 30 min ago about a 2001 330ci that he just got in as a trade. The car's original sticker was in the 36-40k range. The car has only 14,000 miles and he's asking $30,000. Should I be leary of a car with that low a milage on it? The guy who owned it was supposedly rich and had another car to drive and left his BMW in his garage most of the time. I'm fixing to go look at it and thought I would ask you guys if there were any problems with this particular model. You know, things that the dealer isn't going to tell you about.

Let me know if this is a good deal or not.

id say go test drive it and see if its all good.

the way you said it, it seems that this vehicle is not a Certified Preowned BMW so you may not have the benefits of extended warranties. You do have a free maintenence warranty up to 3 years/36,000 miles from the production date. You also get a 4 years/50,000miles wear and tear warranty. All this is from the factory. Now the difference is that Certified Preowned BMWs have an extended wear and tear warranty from 4y/50k m to 7 year, 100,000 miles.

my dad bought a new GS300 and I couldnt believe what he said. He said that he has no maintanence warranty so every oil change he gets, its all billed. VS me I go in, get it done all for free under warranty.

Well I went and drove it. Here's the run down. It's a dark metallic green (Oxford green metallic?), it has sand leather with the myrtle wood trim, sport package because I saw the M logos on the rims, 5-speed, sunroof, HID headlights, and some special kind of sound system that I can't pronounce correctly.

I have ALL records of every service and oil change from the BMW dealership, every key, the whole nine yards. The car has only 13,105 miles on it and the remaining factory warranty. Kelly blue book rates the car at $34,600. The previous owner is the vice president of the LPGA. That is why he harldy ever drove it.
