I have a question on winter wheels. I have 18" summer dunlops on my 03' 330CI Sport and need to get winter wheels/tires before I crush my rims in the Boston potholes.
When I go on tire rack and enter model type, year etc. they recommend a whell/tire package that has 16" wheels but when I called the dealer they told me I need to use 17" - I don't want to but at the dealer $2K vs. $1K at Tire rack for just winter wheels but I want to make sure I am not missing something.
Thanks
I just bought snows & wheels for my '04 330CiC, and I went through the same thing. You need 17's to clear your brakes, but the tire rack does have a 16" wheel that is made to fit the 330. I opted to go with 17's because I found a nice replica of my factory 18's (style 71 3 piece) at AAArims.com. Good to do biz with, by the way - the set came mounted and road force balanced in less than a week. Good price too - way less than dealer for better wheels and Blizzak WS-50's. Hope this helps!

Thanks a bunch for the response - how do you find the blizzaks for regular driving?
The Blizzaks are truthfully nothing like my stock Potenzas (225's up front, 255's in the back), but they are OK for everyday driving (225's all around). Definitely not a performance tire, but there are NONE better on the ice and packed snow. My objective is to keep my car safe during the winter and worry about "spirited" driving during the warmer months. To me, a trade-off of performance for ice and snow grip makes no sense because it just puts my car at higher risk. Just my own opinion <:-)~

Again - gotta be 17's or larger or the brakes won't clear. Also depends on how you want your ride to look 4 months out of the year..... personal preference.
