question about rear brake sensors

i have a 2004 325i and my rear brake pads and rotors failed inspection, so my dad and uncle are replacing it. the guy at the inspection place did mention something about a wire sensor "one will fail, one will pass." so my uncle replaced the rear driver side brake pad/rotor and went to work on the other side, he said that there was no sensor wire on that side. also that there was no place for a wire.. is that true? does anyone know anything about that?? i said maybe the previous owner replace the brake but did not put in a sensor? idk. help pleaasee

this is true, there is only 1 front brake sensor & 1 rear brake sensor......(left front)-(right rear)
