Question about M3 bumpers

I just took possession of my first BMW last night. It’s a fully loaded 2002 330CI black on black with dark wood grain interior. I’m very impressed with the total package. But like every other car before this one I just can’t leave it alone. I have BIG plans for her.

But what I’m inquiring about is the M3 rear bumper and an after market exhaust system. I’m thinking about going with the OEM M3 rear bumper and the Borla Sport Muffler System (CATBACK). Has anybody tried this? Will the exhaust system align with my stock mid pipe and headers? Is Borla the way to go….?

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

hey first to say and to answer your question. i believe the gas tank is shaped different in the 330 then it is in the m3. i believe. i have seen quad exhuast but it was out tords the sides of the car like a m5 for example

Thanks for the warm welcome and the speedy reply. I believe I’ve seen a system with the quads on the outside. It looks nice, but I like the center quads much better. Now you’ve got me feeling a little discouraged. There has to be someway to accomplish this?

Does anybody know what I can do to achieve this…….?

To get dual mufflers to align with the stock M3 rear bumper you will have to modify the tire well effectively removing the ability to carry a spare tire. It can be done but it may be less expensive and more rewarding to go buy a 02 M3. I have seen it done where a second muffler is plumbed in and routed out of the right side but it sits as close to the right side of the car as the left muffler does to the left side of the car. I think it offers a more custom look than M3 look though.
