I bought a brand new bmw 325i about couple months ago. With every possible options on it.
But about 2 weekends ago, there was a big ice storm across atlanta and highways were closed so no way of getting home. So I had no choice but to book a hotel room for the night. So my car was left outside for the first time since it was purchased.
Now the problem is is that, after everythign was over, my window wipers isnt as effective as it was before that ice storm. Before it would be very clear after it wiped the front windshield. But now it leaves like a foggy kinda residue after each wipe but then clears up pretty quickly. But it is still annoying to see especially when raining very hard. Is there any way to fix this problem? Do I have to get the window wipers replaced?
And another problem is that after that night i left outside, the car starts to make weird noises when braking. It hasnt done taht before the storm. Like when Im pulling out of the garage, and im breaking slowly to pull out, it would start to make this weird noise, like if the brakes are very stiff or dry. But I'm sure this isnt the case. SO what could this problem be?

That is what your warranty is for. Take it in to your BMW dealer and have them go through the concerns you have.
E46holic, your response was not helpful at all.
I am not an expert, as a matter of fact, I too just bought a BMW. I would suspect that your windshield got covred with the pollutants that were in the rain/ice and the residue remains there. I have his problem occasionally on my other cars as well. A good cleaning should reduce this.
Secondly, the brake noise may go away. Even in the owners manual it warns you that the brakes are suuceptable to corrosion and may make noise until the corrosion is scrubbed off. If it does not, then go see your dealer.

Not helpful??? You spend over $30000 on a new Bimmer and you come into a forum asking what you should do. What else?? Take the car back to the dealership and have them correct any problems. What answer would you prefer me to say?
the warranty offered in the u.s. is unbelievably advantageous: there is nothing like it on bmw across this planet!!
so, indeed "take it to the dealer" has a new meaning. for example: wy wipers were smearing. the warranty COVERS WEAR ITEMS!!! so i showed up, handed the keys and said: NEW WIPERS PLEASE. 10 minutes later, the inserts were insatelled, i drove away.
the brakes: all stock non-m3 bmw discs corrode INSTANTLY, they are almost pure iron. look at the after a rain after you've left the car overnite, you will see a yellow haze.
so the first pad contact you hear this "ffffhhrrrrrrrr" kinda sound, which goeas away as the rust is rubbed off.
completely normal, please have no worries. BUT I AM ASSUMING THIS IS STOCK SET UP YES????
OK, I apologise to 46Holic for not respecting the answer to take it to the dealer for warantee. Perhaps this important infomation should be pinned at the top of the forum to discourage questions that may
The BMW warantee is very good, no argument but, the forum is to exchange ideas, help with little issues, pass on a little experience and in general, become a more aware owner. Many folks can benefit from the answers. Taking the car to the dealer to replace the wipers when the glass gets streaky is a bit anal. Try de-greasing your windshield and wiper blades prior to going to the dealer.
